A gift to the ragamuffin's of the world

My family inspires me… Thank you so much! It’s been a while since I released a musical project but the time is now… Special shout out Daoud Sun my soul brother I learn a lot from you always… The story goes I caught him speaking some wisdom to the youth, it was their initiation night, so I had to put it on the record for the record… It ends up I built this album around the great teachers, healers, artist I was around in the blue mountains of Jamica… The feeling of it all, I watched them inspire, co- create, be, build, up lift not only the youth but at the same time themselves… All I can say is this record is for you! The music is you captured in a moment of time in sound…

I was playing some beats for the tribe and I’m a little shy about it truthfully, because the music I make is like the sound track to my life, and sometimes it feels funny to share that openly… like being sonically naked in front of your peers, but I did it anyway and they thought is was dope! I tried to hid but they wouldn’t let me… I ended up playing beats all night every night and found my musical voice again, just being around family that felt my work deeply helped validate my life’s work and passion again… Even with some past success in the music industry I had retreated and lost my confidence to share this side of me…

Anyway my other brother Rasu was like “yo kid” you need to make a record called “Bodega Shaman” the tribe laughed out loud… But Dahkil and Daoud were like “that’s a dope name” yea you should do it, and I was thinking like medicine men don’t call themselves “shamans” tho… But I thought about it and being a New York City street kid and coming so far in life to now being a successful shamanic healer/artist… It made sense and well it’s the truth, so why not? here it is: “The bodega Shaman vol. 1” a gift from me to the tribe, to the world really it’s an honor to share and always will be! classico New York -Island vibes, Soul, Hip-Hop, R&B, Reggie, Electro
